AquaSplash achieves Dementia friendly business status
We are proud to announce that we have officially been recognised as a Dementia Friendly Business by Dementia Jersey.
This significant milestone follows months of dedicated work across our entire team, ensuring that our facilities and services are not only inclusive but also supportive for people living with dementia and other cognitive challenges.
To achieve this status, we have taken several proactive steps, including:
- Training staff at all levels to better understand dementia and how to provide thoughtful, supportive service.
- Reinstalling a Hearing Loop to aid those with hearing impairments.
- Identifying ‘quiet times’ within our schedule to provide a calmer environment for those who may benefit.
- Reviewing and updating signage to ensure clarity and ease of navigation.
- Developing a longer-term plan to implement additional improvements over the coming months.
Many of the changes such as improving signage or creating sensory-friendly times, benefit a wide range of visitors, including those with visual impairments, sensory sensitivities, or mild cognitive difficulties.
