Things to know before you visit 

It is clear, from the science, that fitness facilities have an outstanding safety record. We've taken the following measures to ensure the safety of everyone in our centre:

To further ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and visitors we politely ask you to comply with the following instructions to make your visit comfortable and as normal as possible for everyone.

Planning a visit
You must pre-book your session before you visit. We are still required to control the number of people in the centre at any one time and ensure the safety of the staff and visitors. Bookings can be made on the centre website homepage.

Check in
All visitors must register at reception upon arrival at the centre. To avoid crowding, we ask that where possible you avoid arriving early for your pre-booked session.

Face
Face coverings must be worn in all non-activity areas such as reception, corridors and changing rooms. Face coverings are not required while you are in the pool.

Space
Social distancing must be maintained at all times. To help you adhere to the guidelines while on site session and class sizes have been reduced and signage is prominent to remind all users to maintain a safe distance.

First Aid
If required first aid will be administered by a trained member of the team wearing appropriate PPE.



Important information

We ask that you read the following information before your visit, in order to keep everyone safe.

Pre-Booking

All visits to the centre must be pre-booked. We are still required to control the number of people in the centre at any one time and ensure the safety of the staff and visitors. Bookings can be made on the centre website homepage.

Pool slots are available to book 7 days in advance. This slot includes 40 mins in the pool and allows for access and a turnaround period for each session.

Anyone over the age of 8 years can use the pool for the lane swimming sessions. 

Those under 16 years of age, must be able to competently swim 50 metres and follow the lane swimming rules to attend the sessions. For safety reasons children may be asked to complete a competency assessment.

 

 

Entry

Please do not attend the centre if you or a family member are unwell.

All visitors must register at reception upon arrival at the centre.

To avoid crowding, we ask that where possible you avoid arriving early for your pre-booked session.

Face coverings must be worn in all non-activity areas such as reception, corridors and changing rooms. Face coverings are not required while in the pool area.

Social distancing must be maintained at all times. Signage is prominent to remind all users to maintain a safe distance.

Please sanitise/wash hands pre and post swim.

 

 

During your swim

All members and visitors must always maintain social distance and follow all instructional signage and requests from the Poolside Team.

For family swimming sessions, please remain in your family support bubble and do not mix with other families.

For lane swimming, only 10 members will be allowed in a double lane and 4 in a single lane.

  • Please choose the lane that suits your ability or preference.
  • You must swim in the same direction.
  • Do not overtake the person in front of you and remain a good distance behind them.
  • If you need to stop at the end of a lane, please keep near a lane rope so you can avoid swimmers turning at the end of the lane.
  • Please do not have more than two people at the end of each lane who are resting and keep at least a 2 metre apart.
  • Please ensure you bring your own kick board or float as these will not be available for you at the centre.
  • Please leave the pool promptly by the designated steps at the end of your session.

 

Post Swim

Wash/sanitise your hands immediately after leaving your swim session.

Please remember to wear face coverings in non-activity areas, such as reception, corridors and changing areas after your workout.

Lessons 

To keep our visitors and our team members safe, safety measures and procedures in line with the latest guidelines remain in place at the centre. The return to swim road map and guidelines published by the national governing bodfor swimming is being closely adhered to.  

We are required to stagger the reopening of lessons and will contact you once a date has been confirmed. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates.

Pre-Lesson 

You will be able to view the dates and times of your lessons, as well as the name of your teacher in your More Academy HomePortal account. If you have forgotten your password, please note there is a reset option. 

 

Entry 

Please do not attend the centre if you or a family member are unwell.  

Only one adult should attend with their child/children to reduce the number of people in the building.  

Please sanitise/wash hands on entry to the centre. 

All visitors must register at reception upon arrival at the centre. To avoid crowding, we ask that where possible you avoid arriving early for the lesson. 

Adults are required to wear a face covering when bringing children to lessons. 

Social distancing must be maintained at all times. Signage is prominent to remind all users to maintain a safe distance. 

Pupils must arrive beach-ready with their swimming costume/shorts already on. Changing rooms will not be available at the start of the lesson. 

 

During your lesson 

We have reduced the number of lessons on at any one time to meet social distancing guidelines. 

Teachers are required to maintain social distancing from pupils at all times 

Swim teachers are required to remain poolside therefore parents and carers may be asked to attend lessons in the water with younger children (only one adult, per child). 

Lessons will be 25 minutes to allow sufficient time for children and parents to exit safely and staff to clean down and sanitise equipment ready for the next session. 

We have increased the amount of equipment available. This will be sanitised between each lesson. The use of inflatable armbands are not permitted, swim discs will be available if your child requires them for their ability level.  

First aid, if required, will be administered by trained staff using appropriate PPE. 

 

Post Lesson 

Changing facilities and showers will be available for a limited time at the end of the lesson to allow children to change. 

Wash/sanitise the child and your own hands immediately after leaving your lesson.
